Quexlor is an old-school action RPG, built by a community of developers using the iPhone Game Kit. They’ve compared it to Zelda or Diablo. The team deliberately used royalty-free graphics, which result in a more basic look. It looks like it has the makings of a good game, if there was a bit more explanation provided as to what is going on. There’s an optional D-pad controller (you’ll need to enable it for each game). You fight monsters, and heal by killing animals for meat, or finding meat and fish. Some screens require a boss monster to be killed to clear a path through. You’re supposed to find a “power bracer” to demolish rocks and the “magic book of Rell” to understand giant rule pillars. You also pick up skeleton bones, but it doesn’t seem to do anything much. The game is free, so it’s worth trying out.
