Ravensword: Shadowlands, the sequel to The Fallen King, is an epic 3D action RPG with stunning graphics and an amazing flight feature, which really adds to the game. Graphics and gameplay-wise it’s comparable to Aralon. It’s also not overly hard, which makes it more enjoyable for casual players and newcomers to the genre.
Rather like the first Ravensword, the game does a few innovative things that it doesn’t repeat or seem to make as much use of as it could, such as the early quest to catch a thief along the rooftops. You will finish wanting more content – which the developers say is hopefully coming – more NPCs, more quests, maybe even a little more in-game guidance, though there’s plenty of support in various forums. Randomised loot would also be a bonus. There are many more weapons, plus rune customisation, than in The Fallen King, but monster drops are 100% fixed. Which admittedly makes farming easy, not that you should need to do much.
